When we opened the realme 3i’s box, the front of the device had us believing that it was another “smartphone next door”, especially because we do not often see smartphone manufacturers actually thinking outside the traditional box when it comes to the design of budget smartphones. But to our pleasant surprise, the realme 3i comes with an upped design game....

Ticking all the usual design boxes When it comes to smartphone designs, there comes a time when some design features get common in pretty much all smartphones of a particular segment. It becomes almost illegal to not have them. Like in the mid-range segment, the smartphone has to have a tall display with some type of notch, thin bezels on three sides and a relatively thicker chin, glass-like plastic or glass back with some kind of gradient finish often accompanied by a vertical capsule-shaped camera unit....

Realme Narzo 20 To start with, the vanilla Narzo 20 has a 6.5-inch mini-drop notch display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display comes in at 88.7% screen-to-body ratio and offers an HD+ screen resolution. Narzo 20 comes in two colors: Glory Silver and Victory Blue. Under the hood, the phone runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 processor with 2.0GHz of clock speed and a Mali-G52 GPU for graphics processing....

No, this is not a spiritual saga – it is still a gadget review. A review of a device that is very good on its own, but perhaps bit off a little more than it could chew when it compared itself with the biggest names in cell town. We are talking, of course, of the Yutopia, the latest and – yes, we might as well say it – greatest device from Micromax’s sister YU brand, which completed a year of an extremely eventful existence....

This gadget is the result of a one-year long passion project, created by Damjan Stanković, executed in collaboration with Marko Pavlović and others. Both phones are so much alike and have more similarities than differences, and hence we’ve clubbed the review but will call out differences when appropriate. We were impressed by the style, the design and the elements used in building the phones during our initial impressions and that stays. Both phones sport exact same looks and in some angles resemble Samsung’s S6 series. As a matter of fact, we had some friends coming and asking us if we got the S6 and in some cases it was us successfully fooling others in having them think we had the S6 – mission accomplished Samsung!...

Unabashedly big and bulky Yes, it does come with other gifts too. As we observed in our first cut, the phone is neither super slim (9.7 mm) nor lightweight (211 grams), but it is built on excellent lines. The kind of solidity that makes you worry about the surface it landed on rather than the phone itself when it takes a fall. It is susceptible to dust and water, though, so we would recommend being a little careful in that regard....

The Gallery app segregates your photos based on Pictures, Albums, and Stories. Apart from that the gallery app also offers the basic editing and media sharing options. The Stories section is pretty much similar to the “Assistant” feature in the Google Photo App, the one that automatically curates the pictures from your last trip and brings it to the forefront. Moving on, the Play store description doesn’t seem to be convincing since it is laced with bad English and equally awful grammar errors....
