Yes, when The Matrix was released in 1999, smartphones were not quite the rage, although PDAs were making their presence felt (hey, Apple had one, remember!). But The Matrix trilogy used mobile phones pretty much the way it used sunglasses – to look cool as hell (yes, we know that sounds weird) rather than as super futuristic devices. Of course, the first film in the series used the Nokia 8810, first seen when it was delivered to Mr “Neo” Anderson, letting Morpheus warn him about the agents in the building (see video below)....

While Qualcomm made these changes without much fanfare, speculations and rumors started gathering storm, and today, Qualcomm’s Sr. Director for Product Management, Camera, Computer Vision and Video, Judd Heape, spoke to a select set of Indian tech journalists to bust some myths surrounding smartphone cameras including the support for cameras up to 192MP. Mr. Heape categorically ruled out the possibility of seeing actual smartphones with 192MP cameras anytime soon, but he said he expects to see Smartphone OEMs launch devices with 100MP and above cameras later this year....

Just as we unboxed the device, our first impressions were that it certainly looks bigger than we expected. The larger form factor can be attributed to the big 10.1-inch 720p display on the front surrounded by some sizeable bezels as against today’s standards. Unlike a smartphone though, you wouldn’t be viewing the display often or use it for content consumption on a regular basis so it shouldn’t really matter. There’s also a front-facing 5MP camera along with an array of four microphones on the top bezel....

The A9 comes with a price tag of Rs 15,490, and while it does not come with anything that will make your eyes pop in disbelief, neither does it have any major shortcomings, in terms of those two elements (stay tuned for our review to find out about the performance). In terms of design, the A9 is a phone that is smart enough. We would not call it sharp looking or stand-out but it sort of fits right in with most modern smartphones....

For, make no mistake about it, the X7 Pro is a very well-specced phone. It sees Realme’s X series get back into the Super AMOLED zone with a large 6.55-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Interestingly, the brand has chosen to go with the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor to power this device. The chip is a powerful one and by all accounts matches some Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chips but is still going to fuel debate in the “Qualcomm vs MediaTek” lobby....

Chrome OS was announced by Google in July of 2009, they also announced Chromium in November which was the open source version of Chrome OS. Chrome/Chromium OS is based on Linux and it resembles Google’s popular web browser with the same name. Unlike Chromium OS which can be run on any hardware, Chrome only works with specific hardware partners of Google. Currently there are many Chromebooks which are being manufactured by various manufacturers and some of them are already available....

Shipments fell from 331.8 million units in Q2 2019 to 284.7 million units in Q2 2020.
