The YoY Smartphone Profit Growth Story The report mentions that the growth in smartphone profit has not exactly been impressive. In fact, in Q4 2017, the overall smartphone profit has declined by 1%. According to the report, the smartphone replacement cycle has also reached its peak and this is making it difficult for OEM manufacturers to book large profits. That being said, there is one brand that currently seems to be immune to the downsides of the smartphone growth story....

Microsoft announced today on their Office blog that the Office Mobile app for iPhone is now available in Apple’s App Store. However, in order to use it, you will need a subscription to Office 365 Home Premium or Office 365 ProPlus. So, the Office Mobile for iPhone is free only for those that already have an account. And for those who can’t afford it or don’t think it’s fair to pay that much, it’s just unreachable....

All of these you get for a $3.99 per month and it is yet not clear on if the Microsoft 365 subscribers will get it for no extra cost. The $3.99 we are talking about is for the standalone product. Things get hazier as Microsoft is still doing its pilot for the services, this means you need an invite to check out the Outlook Premium and believe me it is not easy to get one, even if you are already an Office 365 subscriber....

Update 2: We did some digging around and it seems that the notification only addresses the earlier standing order which had a flat rate of 41.492% for any item costing over Rs 2,000. That limit has now been increased to Rs 50,000. So any item whose CIF value is less than Rs 50,000 will be assessed at appropriate duty rates (usually between 2 to 28%), and not at a flat rate of 41....
