Generating Google Maps Plus Codes
The Plus Codes kind of work akin to the location sharing feature. Before this, the Google Maps allowed users to share locations by transmitting the GPS coordinates. In a bid to simplify and make this more efficient, Google now offers the Plus Codes. The feature is available for both Android and iOS. The best part of the Plus Codes is that you don’t need to remember the entire address or even the coordinates, instead, all one needs to do is jot down (or rather paste it on a notepad) the Plus Code.
Open the Google Maps on your iOS or Android Device Touch and hold the place to drop a pin on the Google Maps Tap on the Address or the description of the place
Scroll down to the bottom and find the plus code, (as shown in the screenshot) Copy the Plus Code with a single tap and now you can share it.
In my experience, it is even better than using an actual address. One can also use a Plus Code for a town or city.
How to Search addresses/locations using Google Map Codes
Searching for an address using Plus Codes on Google Maps is pretty simple. All you need to do copy the Plus Code and enter the same in the Google Maps Search Bar. Tap search and the Map will automatically show you the exact address as per the Plus Code. Alternatively, you can also enter the Plus Codes in the search bar, and the location will be shown in the Google Search results.
