OnePlus 8 Pro Specifications (leaked)
Update: Famous tipster @OnLeaks on Twitter has just leaked the official press render of the OnePlus 8 Pro in Green and the color surely looks unique! You can check out more images on igeeksblog.
OnePlus introduced the ‘Pro’ series with the OnePlus 7 last year wherein they went all-in with regards to specifications and numbers, and that seems to be the case with the OnePlus 8 Pro too. The OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to have a huge 6.78-inch QHD+ display which is almost the size of the one on the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The display is, of course, a super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz, something all of us were expecting. The Snapdragon 865 is going to handle CPU duties and with it comes the 5G capabilities. There’s going to be 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM along with 128/256GB on UFS 3.0 storage which is slightly disappointing as UFS 3.1 should have been the standard, at least on the Pro variant. The rear will have four cameras – 48MP + 48MP + 8MP + 5MP. The ultra-wide camera is expected to be the Sony IMX 586 sensor which seems promising. The camera setup overall is similar to that of the Oppo Find X2. The selfie shooter, which is going to reside in a punch hole will be a 16MP sensor. The battery on the OnePlus 8 Pro will be a 4510 mAh unit which can be slightly disappointing for some people as the display size is huge along with the 120Hz refresh rate and there’s 5G too. We will have to see how OnePlus optimizes it. OnePlus is still sticking with 30W Warp Charge 30T which is again disappointing given that (sister) brands like Realme and Oppo are offering up to 65W of fast charging. However, on the flip side (quite literally), OnePlus is finally offering wireless charging that too at 30W along with 3W reverse wireless charging. This is certainly going to make a lot of people happy. The OnePlus 8 Pro will also come with an IP68 rating, again, something that most of the consumers were asking for. The OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to come in three color variants – Blue, Black, and Green. Expect the price to go even higher this time as OnePlus seems to have included everything that one expects from a true flagship smartphone.
OnePlus 8 Specifications (leaked)
— Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) March 25, 2020 The OnePlus 8 is going to be the more affordable option while retaining most of the core specifications from its elder sibling. The Snapdragon 865 chipset with 5G capabilities will stay, but the AMOLED display has been shrunk to 6.55-inches with a Full HD+ resolution instead of QHD+, and the refresh rate is also down to 90Hz. However, as per rumors, both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will have curved displays this time. The RAM/Storage config will remain the same at 8/12GB and 128/256GB, but the RAM is LPDDR4X. The rear loses a camera and has three cameras – 48MP + 16MP + 2MP along with a 16MP selfie shooter, also residing in a punch hole. The battery is also slightly smaller at 4,300mAh with the same 30W Warp Charge 30T. The big difference is here is that the OnePlus 8 will not have wireless charging or any sort of IP rating which is a bummer, but understandable given that they have to price it lower compared to the OnePlus 8 Pro. There will be three color variants – Glow, Black, and Green. The OnePlus 8 Pro is also expected to go up a notch in terms of pricing compared to older generations. While initially the OnePlus 8 series was expected to launch sometime in April, it looks like OnePlus will have to delay the launch until the situation settles down all over the world. The OnePlus 8 Lite was also rumored to come but there’s no information about it as of now.
