OnePlus 8 Pro: Design and Display

From the looks of it, the OnePlus 8 Pro appears to have a similar all-glass design as the regular OnePlus 8, with slim bezels, a hole-punch cutout for the front camera, and 3D Gorilla Glass protection. The phone comes in three colorways: Onyx Black, Glacial Green, and Ultramarine Blue. Moving to the front, the 8 Pro gets a bigger 6.78-inch Fluid AMOLED display with QHD+ (3168 x 1440 pixels) resolution and a 19.8:9 aspect ratio. The panel comes with support for sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamut and also features MEMC support, which, in case you are unaware of, reduces motion blur and other artifacts to offer a seamless and smooth viewing experience. Besides, another significant differentiator between the two models is the refresh rate. While the regular OnePlus 8 gets a 90Hz refresh rate, the Pro suggests offering a more fluid experience with its 120Hz refresh rate panel.

OnePlus 8 Pro: Performance

Talking about performance, the OnePlus 8 Pro shares the same Snapdragon 865 processor (with Adreno 650 GPU) as the regular model, which is the latest offering from Qualcomm and comes with an X55 modem for 5G connectivity. Plus, it comes coupled with 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. To power the internals, the device includes a slightly bigger 4510mAh battery, with the same Warp Charge 30T charging that charges up the phone to 50% in just 23 minutes. However, it does get support for wireless charging, dubbed Warp Charge 30 Wireless, and also, Reverse Wireless charging. OnePlus claims, the wireless charging on the device can fuel up the battery up to 50% in under half an hour. Among other things, the handset comes with face unlock and an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication, USB Type-C (3.1), dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Audio Zoom. In terms of connectivity options, there is support for 5G (SA / NSA), dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, AAC.

OnePlus 8 Pro: Camera

For camera capabilities, the OnePlus 8 Pro sports a quad-camera setup on the rear with a dual-LED flash, as opposed to a triple-lens setup on the vanilla OnePlus 8. The setup includes a 48MP primary (Sony IMX689) sensor with f/1.78 and OIS + EIS, accompanied by a 48MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 119.7° FoV, an 8MP telephoto sensor with f/2.44 aperture and 3x optical zoom, a 5MP color filter lens with f/2.4 aperture that offer enhanced filters and effects. Moving to the front, the phone comes with a 16MP (Sony IMX471) sensor with f/2.45 aperture and EIS.

When it comes to video, the rear sensor offers support for video shooting in 4K at 30/60 fps and 1080p at 30/60 fps. It also allows for super slow motion recording in 720p at 480 fps and 1080p at 240 fps. The front-facing camera supports 1080p video shooting at 30 fps, along with the time-lapse video.
