CREO will be manufacturing the phones and also develop the proprietary software and the company believes that this combination will help users get the best out of their phones. The funds would be channelized in building an enriching and evolving software experience through their proprietary Android based Operating System and a flagship Smartphone to be launched later this year. Many companies including Xiaomi and Lenovo are trying to distinguish themselves from the other Android smartphones with the custom overlays like the MIUI and the Vibe UI. While many of us swear by stock Android that comes in phones like Nexus and Motorola, smartphone users are also taking a liking for the loaded custom UI’s. On the other hand, Cyanogen is aggressively pitching itself as a highly customisable and powerful alternative based on Android. It would definitely an uphill task for CREO to make a place for itself in the market and to stand a chance, it should offer new features based on its dedicated hardware.
